All i feed mine is raw and they seem to look much better on it, i won't be going back to dry mix

i,m sure its only cows sheep and goats which can be infected ,but its only dogs that can spread it ,the farmer which had the lambs condemed had never heard of it either he knew i fed raw so he was ok about it he still has 200+ lambs to go from the same flock so heres hoping the damage is minimal,i still feed raw as dogs love it i just freeze it for 14 days before feeding

Two points I wanted to mention.

 

Firstly about feeding pasta. I think rice is better as pasta contains wheat and wheat contains gluten and some dogs can/do have an allergy.

 

Secondly about tapeworms. Wouldn't be a problem if owners wormed their dogs properly

jane russel my dogs are wormed regular all 6 at the same time but wormers only kill whats there when you worm your dog if you feed them the day after a piece of infected meat your wormer does nothing ,i phoned the vet and asked about this ,so i hope your not implying that i dont do my dogs right

maybe jane rice is better but ive not had aproblem with it so far they get rice ,and brown bread , any way ive got dogs whoran no matter what thye got ,its all about personal touch when they are out 3 to 4 nights a week then the extra feeding plays a part in it all the best

Mine get a mix of rice and pasta with there meat and they are doing well on it, if the dog has an allergy then obviously i wouldnt feed pasta but if they havent then why not?

I'm just saying that if dogs are wormed properly then the meat doesn't get infected -- or at least the contamination rate eases off. The contamination cycle needs breaking. Worming with something like Drontal every 3 months -- maybe more often for dogs fed RAW (you'd need to ask someone who knows) will help prevent the problem and if not prevent it, at least reduce the prevalence.

 

So I'm not implying anything. Just making a general statement about dogs and worming

Wheat only accounts for about 10% of allergies in dogs. It's not a huge problem but can come on at anytime and worth knowing about

my dogs are wormed with drontal every 2 months but still managed to get and drop this tape worm ,yes your right keep up to date with worming but like i said if you freeze the meat for the correct length of time at the correct tempreture it kills the tape heads ,this is the best way of getting rid of the things worming only kills whats in there gut at the time of worming freezing kills it before entering the dog , i,ll leave it at that just something to think about as i said in my first post cheers zap

£50 is alot of meat for you would easily fill a chest freezer. i only spent 17 quid and didnot get charged for delivery but i live locallyish, i could start a delivery buisness for you forieners :11:

I looked on the website but the pop-up box that lists the deliveries doesn't have a scroll bar so I can't see the bottom of the list
