What kind of an example would that set to the public about ferreters? Just treating it like a play thing, abit of a laugh. You wouldnt do the same do a dog (and dont tell me you would) so you shouldnt to a ferret. If you turned up ferreting with a ferret like that my first thought would be messer and second would be 'piss off home'. Permission is hard to win easy to lose I think its important to look and behave professionally and that ferret just makes you look a complete and utter amatuer.

im sure there were a lot easier way to identify similar looking ferrets without dying the poor bugger mate.stick a collar on one if you find it that hard to identify it.imo that looks a bloody mess mate.

ok this is for the haters out there , first of all the food dye IS harmless ive read up on it , and secondly im new to this sport , i may of had ferrets before but never worked them. i will be getting them collors as soon as i can but money is i bit tight at the min , and for the getting and losing of land i dont have any to work yet and wont be looking till next year as they are just kits , ive dye her for a bit of a laff because i CAN tell the diffrence at the min because she is 4 weeks older then my other jill and alot bigger . so im sorry if ive upset some real ferreters out there , im putting it down to my newbie statues.

i do know whos who in my court [bANNED TEXT], i read that they use food dye to dye cats and dogs so i read up on it and my little girl loves the fact she has a pink one lol. once the dye has come off i will be buying some collors for them, it was a one off experiment. some people liked it and some it got up there nose . but lesson learn't

im sorry if i had a go, even thought she is pink she is the nastyist one out of the lot lol she will be a good worker i hope. how do i work out which ones are going to be the best workers? is there any signs to watch out for and any ideas on how to train them ???

u wont be able to tell untill u actually start workin them and even at the start most dont do much u will be able to tell once there consistently getting work

you wont really know till you actually get out there with them.some are diffrent from others.some will work a warren deep and all levels,otheres will mess about close to the top.im a firm believer they all work to a certain degree.just once in a while you come across a cracking good worker who will stay below ground till his work is done.training them isnt really a must i have a very big court with loads of 4"hose going underground and all over the court,but that was mailny to keep them active during the summer monthhs but i guess it helps them get the idea when their young.good luck with them and you will have many a good days ferreting.not always abpout the size of bag you take home.just get away for a few hours piece and quiet and enjoy yourself.

Fecking joker just snip abit of hair of its tail....or better still get to know your ferrets..........

 

I have to that are almost identical, but I can tell them apart when I give them a good look, but to sav time I have snipped a tail, helps if one does a silly poo or is fighting to know straight away who it was.

 

over did it this year though, everyone took the piss and said he was half a ferret now LOL
