Lab 10,979
WoW, he is an alcoholic , so what do any of you really know what DRINK can and does to a Person???????? He was trying his best, and you lot put him down, Probably the ones who called Gazza have got a lot more serious issues than he will ever have. Are we ment to feel sorry for him because he is an alcoholic like? Not me! Lets not kid ourselves that hes had some hard life, he was a great talent that couldn't handle it and went down a slippery slope. Some people may like to think of him as the cheeky chappy but some might just think he is a bum. labtastic come on mate can you truly tell me you dont no someone close to you who is f****d off the drink???? ive been bad on it myself but turned a massive corner when i seen older fellas in gazzas state and its not nice. yes its his own fault as its his own choice but every f****r round him egging him on didnt help!!! i dont want you to feel sorry for him how could you when its him drinking it but at least he tried to help him and if i was ever in a situation like moat was last night and someone did that for me at least id go out knowing i had one good friend!! wouldnt you feel the same??? as proved by this episode women come and go but true mates are there till the end Truly i have never had anyone close to me that has fell into his situation, could be the reason for showing little pity. Its a real shame thats someone with his talent has thrown his life away after he has had plenty help to quit. I do think that the reporter that decided to interview him in that state and put him on national radio should get a serious butt f****n'

danw 1,748
fair point but I would have still interviewed him if the man thought he was sober enough to negotiate moats surrender then I should think that a few simple questions would be ok.It is a shame gazza is a piss head but he has done it to himself and if he puts himself in the spotlight when he is incapable of presenting a sane and sober appearance then more fool him. Yes we are supposed to feel sorry for him, same as any sane decent person would feel sorry for anyone with a life threatening illness !! I supposed George Best was " just a bum " in your eyes as well..... Gazza brought joy to many football fans as did Best and many others.....for that alone he deserves better than to be called "a bum ". Unfortunately our scum press prefer to degrade and humiliate our sporting icons instead of helping and protecting them.....and we are just about the only country who do that. scothunter 12,609
not just sport gnasher, the british press are renound for their brutal reporting and knocking someone down.sometimes its a good thing, but in gazzas case thats the gutter end of reporting.but if he dont want help then their aint much you can do about it.the reporter in this case was only doing his job, rightly or wrongly it got the desired affect. Before you go off on a rant again i never called him a bum i said "some" might call him a bum. I dont feel sorry for him and thats that, would he feel sorry for me if i fell of the wagon.....would he f**k.The man had a chance to be 1 of the very best footballing talents England has ever produced and he threw that all away. Now if he was joe public and the world was against him and he couldn't get a break anywhere then maybe i would feel a tad sorry but he was not, he was an idol to youngsters and he is now just a laughing stock. Yes the media have played a part in this but they also could have made him a superstar just as easy like they have made the likes of squeaky clean Beckam. George Best is exactly the same..........got the help, didn't take it so sorry no sympathy here.
