Permissions... theyre like buses!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

As some of you may remember i lost my best permission due the new tennant liking rabbits on her paddock :wallbash: I took the issue up with the farmer but he wasnt up for upsetting his new tennant so i left it at that.

Since then i've been mega busy with work and havent had much chance to get round any farms asking for permission, anyway today i took a few hours off and the very first farm called on was one that i'd had my eye on for a while but had convinced myself that such prime rabbit land would have been snapped up by someone else, well inagine my suprise when the lady who owns the farm said i was welcome to sort their rabbits out, but i would have to call back to get the ok from her husband but she didnt think it would be a problem :clapper: This is a great spot with a disused railway line running through it and the rabbits have totally over run the banking!!

With half a fantastic permission in my back pocket i called at the next farm and bingo another permission signed and sealed, the farmer there told me he estimated he had close to a thousand rabbits on his land, i was sceptical of this as we all know when a landowner see's a few rabbits he thinks h's over run with em!! Anyway he said i was welcome to to have a wander round and see for myself, i have to say he might not have a thousand but he's certainly got hundreds :clapper: The land is bordered by a Yorkshire water plant and the motorway and as such there's no rights of way and is really secluded.

I had my rifle in the back of the car so as i getting to grips with the lay of the land i took the oppertunity to help myself to a brace of rabbits(thats the ferrets happy for next few days), cant wait to go back on Sunday for a proper sesh  will take the camera next time though so i can post the result of my trip.

Called back at the first farm tonight and secured the permission not only for rabbits but rats as well, though i was upset to learn that the old railway banking belonged to the next farm who didnt want anybody on their land!!! Anyway theres still plenty to go out along the hedges, they also put me in touch with a farm across the valley which when i called was lifting with em in the fields, again though the landowner was out and was asked to call back tomorrow, i'l let you know how it goes

went passed a paddox today coming back from a wasps nest so i stopped to look in and rabbits were running around the yard field the drive up to the yard so i thought it would be rude not to as i drove up this women came to my car and ask me what i wanted so i spoke to her for a good while and she said that she would be happy with me to shoot and trap and gas the rabbit rats and moles so i said i would do the rats and rabbits for free but would need to charge for the moles she was happy with that as her horses and sheep run around so she is going to chat to her bloke tonight about it and give me a call in the morning so fingers crossed hey
