bird 9,931
its not so much the height, but the weight of a dog that counts.? ive seem plenty of tall dogs 26- 28in take rabbits, but there went to heavy 60- 70lb.If they arnt to heavy, they wont loose there agilty, and (agilty) is what you need to pick up rabbits fact. This dog was 26 1/2 in 70lb, good on fox and good on rabbits. He had no prob picking them up. colliex 3/8 collie 5/8 grey Blaze Quote Link to post

stabba 10,745
There are no hard and fast rules as to the size a dog needs to be for rabbits...Pure deerhounds at 30inch+ can pick rabbits up with ease...As Bird rightly said in his post..its down to the conditioning of the dog that counts..atb stabba Quote Link to post

mackay 3,383
If I was purely a rabbit man then I wouldn't be buying a pup that was expected to reach 30 inch, before anyone jumps in and says they've seen dogs this height catch rabbits so have I. Every dog will catch game if it's fit, taken out often enough and gets game put in front of it. Quote Link to post
