the right cartridge

hi all , im new to pigeon shooting so i would like abit of advice , what cartridge do you all use for a 12g gun on pigeon corvids etc ?

welcome to the game mate,most people use 30-32grm no6 shot,try a few different brand to start off with and find the one that suits you and your gun.

just to second what the others ahave said 30-32grms no 6 the norm

alougth i been using 30 grms of no 5 but that just suits the way i shoot

Anything between 6-7 and a halfs 30 - 34 gram loads

 

I also also tend to buy one ounce shot size just my personel preference

All down to personal preference but generally either 6, 7 or 7.5 shot. I like 7.5 in the spread and 6 in the choke.

Hi

I use 32 Gr felt wad No 5's, that said my shotguns are all 1970's vintage, fixed choke and fairly open.

However if you have a 'modern' i.e New gun which is designed for Clays with screw-in chokes then 28 Gr

plasi-wads are the design intent, so then you should follow the lead and use them.

But in my opinion for live quarry No6 is the mininmum, and No5 the optimum.

Try Hull special pigeon or Gamebore clear pigeon 30-32 6's, you,ll stick with them although there not the cheapest

I use Gamebore Clear Pigeon No-6 30 Grams for everything and have no problems but I might give the gamebore pigeon extreme ago which is 34 gram shot 5 when I have used my others up, Ben
