shiny barrels on centre fires

just wondering could you cover a centre fire barrel and moderator with camo tape or something else (suggestions wanted) to stop the shine or would it loose it stickyness with the heat as you shoot?

YOu could try a rifle wrap, just google or you tube it there are loads.

the lads when on tour use, "sniper tape" ebay/google it comes in green or tan. when i used it, constantly for 6months, firing most days it needed replacing a few times but with the ammount you get on a roll that wont matter! and you can put cam paint on to it to yout liking!

 

bonus is, it doesnt mark your barrel when you take it off either!

I have two SS barreled rifles never had any problem , why do you need to cammo your barrel ?

i wouldnt put the tape on it. if you want to cover it get one of those rifle nets and adjust it to suite.

Depending on your barrel width and moderators etc you can use an old inner tube from a push bike. you could use the road 700cc size for a barrel and an mtb size inner for a moderator.

The only time I cover my rifle is when I'm ambushing grey crows. I used a camo scrim net off Ebay and a few elastic bands, mesh face mask, the right colour clothes, am invisible to the winged vermin.

Try lady spray, for hair , is matt clear , & wipe off with damp cloth & rub, if need back to normal.

Don't see the need to make it dull, but for a dull finish which i like, i got my barrel, Bead blasted when it was being built, just an option for you if you don't like the S/S bright finish...
