Deker 3,478
the only time mine has richoched is when i use 20gr and 17 hollow points ...so you mean with all HMR ammo (the 17g Ballistic tip being a hollow point with a polycarbonate insert)!! Quote Link to post
njc110381 0
I'd suggest that unless you're taking quite long shots (120 yards or more) then the bullet will most likely break up. I think what may be going on here is that the sonic crack makes it across to the hedge and then when it gets there it kind of deflects the sound around a bit? I've been led some way away from a mate shooting a HMR and sometimes it sounds a bit like shotgun shot has hit the hedge next to me? It couldn't have been fragments as I was well off to the side of him. I'd spend an evening only shooting away and see if anything gets said. If she comments then go and have a friendly chat with her saying that you're only shooting away but sometimes the sound can be deceiving. If she's not an anti but not a shooter she may well just be a bit concerned about the safety of it all, in which case a quick chat about how these things work should make her feel more comfortable with the situation. We don't all understand guns and it seems they can be pretty scary to people who only know what they see on TV! Quote Link to post
