bigbulls 26 Posted July 9, 2010 Report Share Posted July 9, 2010 Mint, pick a few clumps and rub it over the cage and leave a few bits sticking out of the mesh on you cage. Most sorts of mint seem to work but some are especially good, i have one sort growing that is a golden leaf and smells quite citrusy and seems to really repel the flies. Its worth trying anything out of the herb garden, if its aramatic and quite pleasent then chances are that flies dont like it. Quote Link to post

Aaron_butcher 17 Posted July 18, 2010 Report Share Posted July 18, 2010 red top fly traps. 7 quid off ebay. catches up to 20,000 flies and lasts up to 6 months. they just stink in the summer when you get a few thousand dead rotting flies in it but it does the job better than any fly strip.
