Roof mounted light

Recommended Posts

Getting a lamp on top of my truck was wandering if anyone had a guide or pics showing where about to drill the hole, as once its done there’s no going back lol It will be a LF170 that'll be used also what did you do for wiring it up straight to the battery?

Thanks

you can take the wire strate to the interior light and it will run via that.

sure you need a 52mm hole cutter, dont put it to close to the window as iv found that the beam bounces off the bonnet. hope this helps abit atb

If your going to fit a fixed lamp to the motor I'd remove the liner and make sure your not drilling through any strengtheners or wiring, then connect direct to the battery if possible.....If you don't need a fixed lamp, you can always go for the temporary roof or window mounted options...

Yeh there not bad archie, I've still got one put aside for if I go lamping in someone elses motor, I also had a variable connector fixed for dimming it down...Mines roof mounted in the present vehicle, which is a lot easier still...

was looking at the door mounted option at first

the door frames on the l200 are more arched but i have the wind deflectors fitted so would have to remove

i thought about drilling the roof but would make a big diff when selling

so went for the suction kit if you have a roof rack fitted it could be adapted very easy to fit a lightforce kit without the suction kit saveing £90

I've got sliding roof bars on my navara, so I fabricated a bracket that bolts onto the front roof bar and the lightforce handle drops down through the sunroof. Takes less than 30 seconds to have it up and running now! It works well as it doesn't restrict the window at all and the passenger can lamp for you too. The only negative is the sunroof has to be open a couple of inches.
