Tiny 7 1,694
Yip thats all i do it keeps a good baseline of fittness , I always try to get them doing at least 5/6 mile's a day , Which is easy and only takes 35/40 mins, Plus i think it keep them sharp and jumping a treat over every gate fence you come too, But likes been said take it easy at first, Edited to say more or less all the running i do beside the bike is free running, They just run beside me or up infront.... stabba 10,745
But remember...free running is always a must for fitness ..helps to strech evey ligament and muscle..nowt worse than a pulled muscle or ligament on the first night out...atb stabba

Guest deerhound hunter
thats all i do with my dogs twice aday up the allottmant which it works out about 8 mile ,4 mile their and back ,then on wednesday me and pal and the kids get on the cycle paths and do 20/25 mile over a space of few hours ,we normally repeat on a weekend the cycle paths round my way are endless and they normally get few bunnys on the way, this way of fitting up your dog is very benificial it works all muscle, ligaments, tendings it also will improve your dogs stamiana which it will need when running hardy quarry.....atb..dh Edited July 5, 2010 by deerhound hunter

border lad 1,047
in the past month I have been doing, 6 and half miles each morning, the dog is on the lead, and he took to this type of exercise very quickly, and also it helped to build this dogs confidence, as he got stronger, his confidence grew, and his recall, is improving, aswell I started from a couple of miles onto 4 miles then to 6 and half, at a nice steady trot, and barely a puff out of his head, ((( a great way to exercise, for man and dog,
