Ruger Help

Hi All,

 

Went into the gun shop yesterday and picked up a ruger 10/22 second hand in blinding nic not a single scratch or any wear on it.

 

My question is, I am after a large capacity mag (20 plus rounds) can anyone recomend a good one and where to get them from.

 

There is one on fleebay a 'hot lips' one but they want £49! on the manufacturers website the same thing is 21 dollars US!

 

Any help or advice very welcome

Hi mate they are a good little gun for the bunnies used my mates a good few times.

Bit of a problem with subs now and agian, jams, but I think that is down to cleaning!

Wax off the subs, powder build up an the velocity it copes with HV ok!

As for the mag you could try rimfire magic and I believe the is a site somewhere purely with trick stuff for these rifles!

And never mind the barrel, clean the action! .22lr is marginal for blowback so keep it clean!

hi mate, the ruger 10/22 is a great gun. I use the same gun for rabbit shooting. Not sure what ammo you planning on using but avoid winchester subsonic 40gr ammo. They are not suitable for the semi auto ruger rifle. I started using them and found they kept jamming in the gun, so went to see an expert on these guns and he reccomended the cci subsonic 40gr. since then i have put several hundred of these rounds through my gun with out a single jam. they are minutely shorter than the winchester version. As fot the magazine, Wilson fieldsports in laundry road Manston,Thanet stock the 25 shot magazines and they work really well.

Verminator, thanks for that I use Wilson and Wilson as my first choice everytime Peter is a really helpful knowledgable bloke. I have had a look at the 25 shot mags in there but to be honest I am just being mean I thought I might find them cheaper, he does have them but at nearly £50 a throw which I thought was a bit steep.

 

Having looked about though it looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and shell out for them!
