J Darcy 5,871
Hmmmmm, you been watching too much of pinky and the brain lol. Sounds like hype to me mate and call me a sceptic(never spelt right) will no doubt line someones pockets in the proceed. Good luck though. BTW mr D, never read any of your books but if your willing to send me a free signed copy, I'll gladly do a book review on here  Its ma baw. I'm sorry but i don't know what pinky brain is. If you don't know much about the saluki hybrid or the world of coursing then i suppose you won't have seen what is happening. This is nothing to do with lining anyones pockets. Its not one person. Its evolution.Anyway, good hunting.... If you don't think it will line pockets mate then your being very nieve. Pinky and the brain are 2 laboratory mice who every night, plan to take over the world. Kids cartoon and yes, I am very childish. For as long as I can remember, we have all heard about these super dogs from the coursing world and correct me if I'm wrong, anytime a thread starts on here, its always talking about some retired or dead super dog of the past. So, with that reckoning, the dogs can't be improving much if no one is talking about them or is it the old case of the longer ago the chase, the longer the chase was.......... You are welcome to believe what you wish. I don't need to say any more. Them that knows, knows...them that don't, don't..... Not everyones in it for the money matey...... I have nothing further to say, but time will tell Happy hunting... Quote Link to post

scent 509
have to admit baw sack..............no but god loves a tryer You know I'm right though..... The saluki is nothing more than another cross to be put over the mighty greyhound. It's true and no matter how much it irritates you, its still the truth.... Any newcomers to lurchers, first thing they should learn.... a lurcher is generally a greyhound cross...... ey gryhound and a bit of sheep dog , you wont go far wrong till you grow up and learn abit horses for courses Quote Link to post

whin 463
if i was to choose a dog or two for doing a bit of everything i would lend to my saluk collie bitch she can catch abolter flush larger game and do well in the daylite ,ive had afew very good collie types and some good saluk types both have qaulities a man needs for hunting but you cant beat the very good greyhound blood in them as i have found out at times when they need an injection of real pace or a big whippet grew blood ,nothing worse than seeing abig buck pulling away beacase they havent the pace saw it ,the tor of dartmoor type never lacked much pace but saw line bred saluks who were fine on big land coursing but not for the rigourd of nite time work thst i prefer , Quote Link to post

Guest Defender Poacher
If someone stuck a vid up of that many lurchers catching a Roe there would be hell on! they would be slated to bits but because its cloth head terrorists doing it with Saluki in the desert its ok All that gazzelle can do is run in a straight line to no where it carnt turn left or right because its hemmed in with 4wd it carnt turn and double back because there is 6 or more saluki on its tail, on top of that there sounding there horns to panic it even more. That is not coursing its baiting. But hey those Saluki's are some dogs Quote Link to post
jimlampit 7
I was on the phone the other day to a dear friend of mine and we were chatting about dogs There's quite a few running dogs that have'nt had a greyhound injection for a number of generations and they seem to be throwing good stock. Furthermore i wouldn't mind betting that before too long a "strain" develops and that more and more a type of running dog appears that is white or cream, dropped lugs, smooth coat and is a result of many generation breeding best to best of saluki hybrids. Time will tell eh?... Happy hunting JD Like this one? were did you ghet a picture off my dog.. lol he's the dead spit of mine Quote Link to post

The best chases I seen curtesy of utube were single dogs and did feature turns although allout speed and stamina sems the gazelles main defence only turning when they are already in trouble. i wish we could legally run our American antelope here as this would be the ulitmate test for a saluki in the USA, I do know that a few have been taken in the past by accident with salukis in New Mexico. One of the lurcher pups I bred is being run in a area with lots of antelope and her owner told me of two near back to back courses his dogs had on antelope recently he timed both runs and each was close to 15 min and he feels very lucky his dogs didnt die. Neither gazelle came close to being caught by the way. Antelope have a nasty habit of following you around the desert and drawing your dogs off and exhausting them all the best Terence Quote Link to post
