Salmon fishing

Hi im just wandering if anyone knows any hot spots for salmon in shropshire as i have never caught one and its my ambition now! I have been fishing for many years and know alot about spinning and such just wandering if anyone has any information on catching this species! Im from Shrewsbury so anywhere near welshpool

there are salmon in the severn.

 

atcham is supposed to be good.

prince albert water i think.

 

do you have the licence for them?

Im going to get a 8 day license for them. I havent fished The Severn so ill look into Prince Albert

a very long waiting list to join i believe bud.

 

some of the daa and taa water should hold them too (iron bridge/buildwas) and there are definately some around shrewsbury( try to pm slipper off this site he lives there and fishes too).

 

 

how did it go with the lurcher??

Which one mate? Yeah i have looked on the free fishing website and there are some in Iron bridge and some in Powys that ill look into! Im itching to catch one!

a bit off topic but did you not rescue a lurcher or simillar?

you see them jumping at ironbridge but the "s bends/ meanders" further upstrem are reputed to be better for the "tourists".

theres defentley a good few in the severn 1 got cought last week in jackfeild ironbridge was on my way to the car from fishing and saw the bloke with it, it was about 18ld
