Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Just like to say that no fish were harmed in the taking of the pic before someone has to run it down ,all fish returned alive and well quickly by 3 more anglers and myself .Had a day on our local water today on the bream .Feeder fishing with worm as hook bait and maggots and corn in the mix .I like to use the maggots alive as i think it helps to keep the shoal infront for longer as they have to grub for the maggots in the silt .Started at 7 am and finished at 4pm with a guessed weight of 220 lb for 72 fish .No need to ball in here as its best to use the feeder to keep things tight .Fish went well up to 3.30 with a spell when i couldnt put the rod down at all or tighten down to put it in the rest ,manic .Few tench including one which i caght off the end ofone of the keep nets ,attracted by the spill from my casting .The water is gin clear and i saw it head down so offered a worm and off it went . "Earth!" 503
crikey you dont often see a load of slabs like that these days! top work. You are correct there mate.around 15yrs ago,my local canals surface was black with bream during the summer, fish over 8lb were often caught.you are now lucky to catch a fish around the 4lb mark as a disease wiped the lot out although its now stuffed with skimmers so my kids should have some fun in a few years.
