johnny 2 367
deer hounds and crosses are a thing of beauty imo My old bitch would catch rabbits as well as bigger things.Looking back some of the smaller lurchers we ran would catch more bunnies, but the dhxs were better at other quarry jmo Quote Link to post
robwelsh 354
i dont think anyone did state that there ideal rabbiting dog is a dhx as they tend to be big, but they can do the magic if need be..and can certainly catch rabbits, alot more than people give them credit for...fact! morton 5,368
I dont get why folk's would go for a 29 inch rabbiting dog in the first place Possibly because thats the choice they make, thats the beauty about lurchers, there,s a different choice of size, colour, coat and breeding to suit most needs, some people are never happy or satisfied with their mutt and others are more than happy even if,to others,it seems an unusual or unsuitable choice. Sela 0
The Boergreyhound that was used is approximately 30" high so I imagine it will be close to that and probably bigger . It is quite obvious when looking at her that she is going to be big She has extremely quick reflexes and a prey drive that is very strong at this age. I think she is going to be a very good hunter but I am busy training her to do some tracking aswell Quote Link to post
