On the very first day I went out hunting, it was with the Hounds and I was only about eight or nine, I was nervous, naturally, as I did not have a clue what to expect. The first stop of the day was at my great Uncle's farm, he nicknames 'the mountain'. It's made of about four or five fields and there is two different parts of heather in the middle. The guns where arranged to cover both the sectors of cover, me and my Dad (Terryorr, on the site) went to the very bottom of the farm - at the very end of both sectors of cover...The howling of the hounds started and then adrenaline began to pump. It was no longer than about five minutes until a big red boy appeared and suddenly disappeared as my Dad took it out with one shot. Two minutes later when the Hounds stoped and we all regrouped back at the farmyard I had calmed down a bit, but not much. I was a very proud and happy kid that evening!
