bobcullen79 1,495
Never had any probs either mate, what size you using? Try matching baits up with the right size hooks or try usng a different pattern. Loving the Korda mixa hooks for bottom baits. Tight lines. Quote Link to post
mick the fish 9
Were you using a fix lead or running lead, sometimes the running lead can bounce around resulting in a hook pull , also having a real stiff rod on fish to small can make the hook pull out, as a above rod high line tight. flak88 0
Barbless hooks hook faster and penetrate easier and deeper, allowing to "cash" more bites particularly when the fish are very careful. If you keep the lines tight as they all said above there should be no problem, unless the fish needs to be played with for a long time, due to the twisitng of the hook it may loosen and or fall out. So when I expect big fish or on spinners/plugs/jerkbaits I prefer hooks with very small barbs like Partridge and Gamakatsu use on some (or all?) of their hooks. The one moment you come to appreciate barbless hooks to the max is when you hook yourself or your mate (or your sweater/glove/landing net) Quote Link to post
spud gun 16
for me i use micro barbed hooks, there still easy to get out and in my opinion i get a better hook hold with them and feel more confident fishing with them, also there better in more weedy conditions. Quote Link to post
