pro keeper 111
Hi all, i was reading a post on here re mating of lurchers so i thought i would add my 2 pence worth, here goes i have been running and breeding lurchers for my own use as pestie for 16 years now, and over these years seen plenty of bitchs that wouldnt stand from people that want to use my stud dogs, after giving this some thought i went and learned how to artificial inseminate dogs, this has proved to be great and very effective, the problems can be that 1 or the other are matched in size or the bitch wont stand, which i have seen mainly in collie crosses, i would be keen to help anyway i can there is nothing worse than when you want to keep your stock going and they wont mate, then all that happens is you lose that line for ever, keep a good line going . poacher3161 1,766
My mate has also learnt this method and will not let his stud mate natrualy he says it dosent take as much out of the dogs plus its handy [bANNED TEXT] the bitch is intent on nailing the dog though in all honesty i would still prefer my bitch to be mated the natrual way but if i kept a stud dog its a method i would want to learn as another option.atb dell Quote Link to post
