micro chips can be brought for as little as £1.50 if brought in large amounts, this was told to me when i done my micro chipping course for the council by the lady who owns Pet ID. The best place to take them would be rehoming kennels or find out when there is a course on for micro chipping and see if they want any dogs for the ''students'' to train on. one guy came in when i done mine with 10 springer pups and he got them all done free.

What is the maximum age now that dogs can be docked as i thought it was 4 days old which would be too young to microchip

The vets up here charge between £20 and £25 for microchipping, i decided since i run a rescue for ferrets i would go on the course through petlog the course cost me £30 as i run a rescue but think it cost the normal person just over £100 but if you are thinking of going on the course mind you will still have to buy the scanner and the implant gun, this again will set you back about £150 but then the chips i buy in as a 10 pack cost me £3.80 each time vat on it takes them just over the £4 mark but again if just a normal person buys them think they charge around £5 each if buying ten pack but as said the more you buy the cheaper they become.

if a ferret is being microchipped from the rescue i charge £5

if a club member i charge £7

if a non member i charge £10

i also charge £10 for cats and dogs but will do a deal if more than one is being done as long as i am not out of pocket on fuel if i have to travel.
