mjr88 50
Hi all I was just wondering what you Cz owners feel is the most accurate and reliable ammo for your .22's. I've owned my Cz varmint now for about 3 years and the ammo that i use for bunny bashing is Winchester SuperX hp's. I am thinking of trying eley as i have heard that these are also very good, Many thanks, John PS : The worst ammo i ever tried was the now discontinued ( thank god ) cci copper coated crap. Bullets were literally sprayed all over the place. Did anybody else try this copper coated crap Quote Link to post
David Dey 2
I was just wondering what you Cz owners feel is the most accurate and reliable ammo for your .22's. Hi. I have tried most subs and found Eley to be the best, CCI,s the worst. Quote Link to post
JonathanKent 16
Winchester super x for me. Plenty of oomph, cheap, pretty reliable, available everywhere. To be honest I find with my CZ453 I get the odd 'flyer' but 9 out of 10 times if I miss its me not the rifle or ammo. ATB Jonno Quote Link to post
hunter1 63
Eleys are the best ammo for my CZ 22. :drink: Quote Link to post
vindiesel 1
Winchester. Took ten rabbit's for twelve shot's monday night. 8 of them where yards plus.Newto the rifle's but when i got my eye in they were deadly. Never tried the eley but my dad use to swear by them. I think it's a case of trial and error Quote Link to post
Colster 1
Never tried the Eley but I found that Remington subs grouped slightly better than Winchester but didn't seem to have the punch. As the difference in grouping was only very slight I stuck with the Winchesters. Quote Link to post

Tobias 0
Winchester super x hollow points work best for me in my CZ452 16" barrel tried remmy's hollow point not impressed tried cci not sure which type mate gave them to me on lamping trip as i ran out of ammo and were ok not great, but every gun barrel and shooter has there own favourite type so im sticking with super x winchester until i cant get them anymore. Old stock my RFD gave me as he had run out of bullets! They were the best subs that l have put through my semi auto so far! I don't think my gun likes lead bullets as most of them have a wax coating for some reason that clogs up the internals of my gun as when a round is fed into the chamber the wax is scraped off which leads to jams and misfires. I found that copper coated bullets are the cleanest so l mostly use Federal high velocity bullets but would love to source more copper coated subsonic bullets. cheers Callum Edited July 4, 2010 by mangy1983 Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
as 22lr ammo is pretty cheap compared to other ammo buy a box of easch. see which shoots best. the go back to the shop and buy a load from the same batch. this will give you the best consistant performance Quote Link to post
andyf 144
Never tried the Eley but I found that Remington subs grouped slightly better than Winchester but didn't seem to have the punch. As the difference in grouping was only very slight I stuck with the Winchesters. I used Remingtons for ages, but got lots of 'runners', my theory is that the lead in the Remy's is to hard, even though they have a (small) hollow point, they just pass straight through, fine if you hit a 'vital' but not if you dont. Ive been using RWS and Winchester Subs for the last 10 years, and my experience is that they are superior and most hits put the Rabbit down for good. AndyF Quote Link to post
