Edgar 1
Yeah there is such a gun, light weight version of the HW80. Lighter because the cylinder wall is thinner so they used a raised scope rail in the early ones, changed it to cut dovetails later. Nice stock, no cheek peice but nice fore end. Yes I have an old one, with raised scope rail, it was my fathers, saw a lot of use. He choped the barrel down to a foot to fit a silencer, not smart as is a job for a gunsmith but there wasn't the info on air guns in those days. Now it is rusty, stock looks a mess and has no mainspring in it, the spring for the safety has gone too. Could be a really nice rifle if money was spent on it. I would get a new barrel-£70, get it re-blued-£50, get what new parts it needs- £20, and fit a V-mach kit-70. £210 in total so I can't afford to. Would be happy to sell face to face but I'm in Wigtownshire, Scotland. Quote Link to post
akton 15
Thanks for the reply edgar, but due to it already being a short barrel when manufactured, being the k model and the alteration that has been done again to shorten it ,It would make a great deal of difference to the distance when firingand for my intended project. thanks again for your offer akton Quote Link to post
Edgar 1
No problem. Who knows maybe one day I will be able to afford all the new bits for it. There must be plenty of old HW 80s about only needing a basic tidying. Good luck, post the results. Quote Link to post
