Pellet prices

Recommended Posts

Just woundering how much you pay for your pellets and do you think someone is having you over ???

I live in barrow in furness in cumbria and we have a shop called Angling & Hiking that sells fishing tackel, air weapons and accessories. The only problem is im being ripped off with pellets! They sell RWS super domes .177 for £6.50 where most other places sell them for £4.30. AA diablo fields £11.00 for 177 & £13 for .22. Infact any pellet they get in starts a bit highly priced then once you'v bought a few tins they add an extra pound or 2 :censored:

How much do you pay for your pellets ?

Are you being ripped off ?

Do you feel someone is taking the piss or taking advantage because they are a convenent store that sells what you use regular ??

This is whats happening at Angling Hiking in Barrow!!! :censored: :censored: :censored:

I was at Weldon Gunroom in Northumberland the other week for a look around to use some time up and I was very shocked to see the price of their Air Arms Field in .22 £13.50 or something close to that. Their RWS Superdomes were over £10 a tin (.22) :shok:

Bisley magnums £9.95 in .177

Deep Blue in Tynemouth sell the Air Arms Field .22 for £9.95 a tin :good:

I paid £12 for a tin of AA Field .22 in Armadale just the other week.

The prices are getting way too high.

accupels in .22 have gone from £9 to £13 aa fields are £12.99 i use h&n ftt pellets and there £10 seem as good as any other high end pellet. rws superdones are £9 and bsa intercepters are £5 only because they are shit and dont group

Shop around a bit and you can usually get good deals. Bar will give you a discount if you buy 10 tins at once. I use accupell which is 10.25 a tin. Be wary of the tins that only have 200 in them. I think prices are quite reasonable. After all a tenner for 500 pellets is only 2pence per pellet. The prices go up like everything else.

I have about 15 to 20 lbs of recovered lead (from my pellet catcher and fishing weights)

Looked at taking it into the scrap merchant. They would offer me pennies for a kilogram :(

Yet a mate of mine took in some copper (not a large amount and walked away with £80:icon_eek:

Lead prices have fallen dramatically recently, but its gonna be a long time before we feel it as an end user.

Wouldn't suprise me if its like the price of petrol, will go up and up and up, then drop a tiny amount then continue going up again .

I used to buy my Geco's in bulk from JSR they were a good price, saved me £2.00 per tin :clapper:

Def being ripped off as Phantom says the price of lead has dropped but we will never benifit from it!

Prices of pellets and cartridges are a complete joke!!!

Some of us must remember the potato 'shortage' many moons ago?

6 pence worth of chips was a huge bag prior to that then they got 'rationed'!

Once the shortage was over chips were still a tanner but the portions stayed at ration sizes!

We are a country of fec##ig mugs!

Its infuriating enough when the price start high but after iv bought a few tins the prices leap up another full pound or more, now that really drives me up the wall. I guess its the price we pay for convenience :censored: :censored: :censored: What next.

i look at it this way £10-£15 for a tin of pellets is on the costly side yes but i would be well out of pocket if i was paying for dog food and ferret food

my pellets pay for them self over and over and keep the freezer full and the dogs and ferrets happy so i cant moan about the price and i always get asked for rabbits i charge £2 a piece so if you cant shoot 5 rabbits with 500 pellets i think you might be doing the wrong sport :whistling:

I was lucky my local gun shop was stopping doing Air rifles and was guna focus on shotguns and FAC rifles.

He sold me AirArms diablos at £5 a tin so i purchased a good amount in bulk. Also got a

couple of Hawke HD sport scopes new at £40 a piece.

If you feel your been ripped off buy online, Ebay has some bargains every now and then or buy from e-shops in

bulk that does work.
