thinking of geting my first lurcher

right lads n lassses am thinking of getting me first lurcher and was looking for a bit of guidance on what cross to get.the majority of my land is farm land ie arobal with a few pastural padocks the largest feilds are 200 plus acres and the smallest being about 3 acres flat and open land, ground light soil sand not to heavy. if this helps . am mainly looking for a rabbiting dog with a bit of wind in its sails for the longer runs but some land has thick hedgerows running through them so a dog with not to thin a coat . any tips or ideas on what x would suit this lye of land much appreciated. yis willum.

evey 1 will tell you different things ,pros and cons 2 every x personaly i prefer bull x grey or deerhound grey or them x together good for rabbits and other quarry that needs controlling or you go with a bit saluki in their either way theirs lots of good x out their and to the owners preference anyway hope get a dog from a pup because you put own stamp on it and thats the best way 2 start........atb......dh

cheers mate dog will be from a pup its then only way to go . not a fan of the bullx dont get me wrong the good for certain jobs. but i do like the look of the old style lurchers ruff coat type.

good look i think you no the tipe of dog you want just get it from worker x worker and the rest will follow choose wisely....

Edited to add, The Fezz has just stuck a litter up, that for £75, may be well worth a punt...!

you wont beat a saluki/grey x collie/grey and i just happen to have a litter only got 2 left out the 7 all others are spoken for got a black bitch and a red dog ready to leave home the weekend here is a pic of pups and parents and what they look like when they are older

his right mate they will kill rabbits and long ears all night long and a charlie its an ideal dog for you they have got speed stamina and brains witch is everythink you need and if i was you id go for the red dog thats a gawjus little pup
