willum 89 Posted June 28, 2010 Report Share Posted June 28, 2010 right lads n lassses am thinking of getting me first lurcher and was looking for a bit of guidance on what cross to get.the majority of my land is farm land ie arobal with a few pastural padocks the largest feilds are 200 plus acres and the smallest being about 3 acres flat and open land, ground light soil sand not to heavy. if this helps . am mainly looking for a rabbiting dog with a bit of wind in its sails for the longer runs but some land has thick hedgerows running through them so a dog with not to thin a coat . any tips or ideas on what x would suit this lye of land much appreciated. yis willum. Guest deerhound hunter Posted June 28, 2010 Report Share Posted June 28, 2010 evey 1 will tell you different things ,pros and cons 2 every x personaly i prefer bull x grey or deerhound grey or them x together good for rabbits and other quarry that needs controlling or you go with a bit saluki in their either way theirs lots of good x out their and to the owners preference anyway hope get a dog from a pup because you put own stamp on it and thats the best way 2 start........atb......dh Quote Link to post
