My hunting partner and I went on a call out to a farm about 35 miles from home,we were told the place was crawling with rabbits........and they were right, the place was infested with them.We had our nets down about an hour when the heavens opened, the wind and rain beat the living shit out of us.We picked up our nets and boxed the ferrets and made a hasty retreat for the car.We stayed close to the ditch to try and avoid the worst of the rain and spotted 3 tiny little rabbits no bigger than your fist.We couldnt believe there would be young uns out this time of the year and the weather was really cold in the last few weeks.Anyone else see youngsters this time of the year? Its a 1st for me and I'm ferreting many a year now,I've seen them in January when the weather was mild but never this late, good sport to you all,Jigsaw.

Not leverets bullet, defo rabs,we were only 10 feet from them.I have seen lots of teads(small uns)in January but never this early.Frank we got 4 rabbits, impossible to stay out in the rain,it was hammering down. The farmer and his son counted 82 rabbits sitting out 2 weeks ago on 2 ditches and a few grounders,I'm itching for next Sunday.

Gutted seven about three weeks ago that were carrying. Had to finish mid February last year (when there was snow on the ground  ) as it was getting impossible with all the youngster we were coming across..... :o:hmm:
