I was under the impression that a quad registred as an agricultural vehicle can travel a distance of around 3 miles or so from base, is this definately correct as someone on ebay who is advertising a quad has said the rules have now changed and you can go anywhere?!?

Any solid info would be greatly appreciated, or links if possible as i cant find any.

cheers muchly, trappa

It is a bit vague mate but to get agri tax, you need agri insurance as well which costs more (but I don't think you need an MOT but not 100% on that!)

My 250 is 125 Quid a year tax. PLG. Cheers, D.

Cheers gsistokie! great link! Its a bit more complicated than i thought, agricultural or limited use agri, its a minefield!

I would guess a 1.5km limit would still be ok but i cant believe its so bloody complicated!

Just got my insurance renewal today. £174 all in. £125 for tax thats £300 a year for no hassle, just the initail cost of the bike and less than a quid a day is worth it in my view! Cheers, D.
