waidmann 105
look into the "kreisjaegerschaft" (deutsche jagd verband) and they will sort out work for the terrier men on fox days and driven shoots on pigs/deer etc.the man in paderborn/gutersloh is wolfgang grabitz, he also organizes the traing courses for the examination to jagdschein (also look into "auslaenderjagdschein" if you have any qualifications which can be accepted you may not need to do the course!) depending on what terrier/dog you have to work the clubs will also organize trials/tests and work for their breeds. as with the sport (don't refer to hunting as a sport over there they don't like it at all!!!!) over here once you know the people you are ok, and can work your dogs WITH someone who has a jagdschein and so would not need to do one yourself. if i can help the drop me a pm. i know some lads and clubs in paderborn. yis waidmann Quote Link to post
wirral countryman 2,110
hello again, just got off the phone to my mate after e-mailing him,the international working terrier federation is by invitation only due to pressure groups and anti's trying to get in,it took my mate 3yrs to get in even though he was quite well known in this country, you do have to take a test as you are meant to be bolting for the waiting guns, when there is no bolt, digging is acceptable, good dogs of known breeding are expensive, bringing dogs from this country is a much cheaper way of doing it,from the pics I've been looking at most of the groundwork is shallow, but this might just have been this particular part of germany,he drove 200kms to work his dogs but does get paid for doing so,for any more info pm me ,hope this helped, atb, wirralman Quote Link to post
