could you help me my knocker box mk1 is working but you have to hold it close to your ear to hear the knocking sound ...put new battery in the box and collar ....any help or advice would be greatly welcome..cheers paca

get in contact with Mick Dadd he sure to fix you problem.

try the wires on the speaker .i had one that was doing the same and thats what it was . hope this helps..

Check the wire to the speaker first i replaced mine with the bit out a old fire alarm and for soldering two wires i replaced it right down to the battery connections .Failing that theres Mick Dadd or there was a advetisement in the back of the countrymans weekly

Have a look at the speaker for damage or a rip in the cone,or posibly poor wire connection,

cheers lads for the help ...magnifying glass in one hand beer in the other il let you all know how i get on... should open a forum dedicated solely to mk1 deben boxes if enough people add to it ...it would be a great help to all,,,after all lads the box andd collar are essential!!! mods take this on board and open a forum

Most likely a bad contact on the speaker. Try resoldering the joints.

As a last resort replace the speaker they are only about 50p.
