I've fell in when i've been out ratting and believe me the drains round here aren't ones you want to fall in, i've dived in once when i was a kid too as someone bet me I wouldn't :clapper: Nowadays with mobiles and car keys its not as funny falling in.

A lad we used to fish with when we were about 14 or so called Chunk was probably well over 20 stone and he fell in everywhere we went, it was as though he had to cristen the venue. He fell in once when I watched him going off his brand new folding seat as though it was slow motion then it was like Flipper had just leapt out the water the splash he made :clapper:

Bit off topic, but I was on a narrow-boat holiday when I dropped the lock key in the cut. Only one we had and it took me 5 dives to find it. It really focusses your mind when the skipper says "If you don't find it this time stay down there til you do." Of course he had a spare but he didn't tell me. Canal water don't half pong!

I've never fallen in while fishing but I once fell in as a lad while beating.

I fell in an old well once when beating, it was all covered in briars and suchlike, it was them that saved me falling right down - it was pretty deep!! No-one knew it was there!!
