Many Thanks I make all mines with weld mesh. Basically its a box with a smaller box attached and then a tunnel of rabbit netting decreasing in size as it enters the pen. Very hard to explain but i hope you get me? Maybe somebody has a pic' of what i mean for you. Quote Link to post
dogs-n-natives 1,182
This may help mate I find that the wee bit of mesh on the inside of the pen, that is there to prevent birds from getting into the funnel from the pen isnt really needed if its narrow enough. ATB DnN Quote Link to post

alimac 882
I got a load of the anti fox grids, the poults don't like going through the two swinging bars that are in each section. Iv ended up cutting mine off. I'd say between my 10 pens it takes me about a hour every round I do, 3 extra hours at this time of year is greatfully recieved. Another couple of things iv found. 1. Put a ring of strainer wire around the small end of the funnel, I think it helps the birds commit to / focus on , going straight through the funnel rather than getting in and pecking the inside as it can't work out where to go. 2. Put 3 or 4 vertical bits of strainer wire inside the funnel on the wide end, this prevents them going through the grid, into the funnel and turning and leaving by the other half of the grid. This is only a prob if you use 1 funnel per grid rather than 2... Using 1 def give them the space to feel confident to travel the funnel. There was some good lookin raised entranced entrys on spetchly hall program on sky.!.! Quote Link to post

We just make our fox grids by nocking up a rectangular frame out of 1.5" square lengths of wood and then drill holes through the horizantal lengths to slide these cheap metal rods we get hold of. Works spot on, takes 15 mins to make and costs f**k all. However a 6 quid a grid thats not bad at all Quote Link to post

If you strecth the swinging bars open you'll find that they go in alot easyier well i do mate i have em on 9 pens and i don't a have any problems with them at all.I admit you have to walk em in for the 1st week but as you know you'll be walking around the edge of the pen anyway.
