didn't read all the posts but my 2pence worth is that if your fields are really quite small and you are just doing rabbits then i reckon a light fast dog say a small 3/4x or a whippetxgreyxcollie would be better as they never actually go far from cover so you sometimes have to slip from the side..........i had to do this with my dog a gspx and he struggled so am now trying to re build his confidence as he started getting frustrated(thankfully he's coming back and boxing them away from cover again....phew)

 

but he's too big for just rabbits my way!!
