I dont want to sound pessimistic but personally i would find him a pet home and forget about running the dog he could be damaged internally and looking at how his muscle tone is he looks a lot older dog than you have been told but its only my opinion. You deserve credit though wat you have done for the dog its a pity their isn't more lads like you out their that keeps lurchers.atb dell

he is a nice looking dog him.

fair play for taking him on

have done so myself in the past.

imo that dog shouldnt be running anything.

once the mange has fully gone put some extra weight on the dog!

ie give it some good vitiman supplimants.

then walk the dog on the lead for 8 weeks.

starting off on 2 mile walks and up to a more vigours 6-8 mile in the later stages of fitness.

can do the latter in a 2 or 3 walk per day process.

once the dog is bouncing ie ready to get running fit then it shouldnt be running and that dog looks a good bit away.

best of luck with him

cheers for the advice people i will hold off for a while yet on foxs. he is near imposible to run i have started taking him out with my bike and it ends in disaster every time he pulls me all over the place the only way i can get him to run is show him a rabbit an hes away like a flash. i walk him roughly 6-7 mile in the morning on the beach and walk him to the field with rabbits in it in the evening an give him 1 or 2 slips and walk home whis is around 5 mile there and back. i just thought if i took him with me lamping at the weekends 1 or 2 slips a night would give him an extra bit of exercise

but by what use all said you all seem to know what your talking about so i will listen to your advice thanks again people
