Bradford Lad 74
Saw some pups for sale the over day near me they were a Saluki x Collie(dam) and Greyhound x Collie(sire), they looked real racy things. I was wandering if this is a good cross anddoes anyone have one? ATB BL Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766
:thumbs:Should make a cracking lurcher the saluki will cut the muscle mass down hopefully and brains from the collie and speed from the greyhound plus the salukis running ability a racy pup might just be the ticket. I her hat your saying about cutting the muscle mass, the dog pup looked as though he w going to be quite heavy set, but the bitches looked slim and leggy. The bloke selling them showed me some footage of the parents working and they looked good, he only wants £100 a pup, i'm quite tempted but take some more advice from more seasoned owners on here Quote Link to post

jamie1011 5
if its bred worker to worker and both parents are doing the jobs they were bred for then you have a good chance then really. as then as said your just combining both working abilities and might get something more allround. ATB BL should make decent dogs, just think about what you want from the dog,i would think saluki greyhound x collie greyhound would be a better allrounder Quote Link to post
johnny boy68 11,726
Nothing ventured...nothing gained As poacher said you may lose a bit of pace off the mark but if the parents are workers theres some of the battle sorted.....Its what you're planning to use them for i suppose it boils down to.....John Quote Link to post
