what are peoples opinions on line breading,is there any bad points.ive just bought a 4year old dog thats out of tina and ive been told by the man that welpt them that lucky was the father.

as long as their are no problems either physically or mentally in the bloodline then no problems can crop up the only thing your doing is recreating the parents

Im not familiar with the dogs pedigrees, how close is the breeding?.A popular cross in coursing greyhounds is son of a daughter to a daughter of a son to a particular dog whose traits your trying to reproduce.

Closely bred dogs can be a bit highly strung /wild but not always.A plus side to them is that they can often breed better than themselves.

That would make them inbred father to daugter wouldnt it done this type of mating when i needed to replace a good old dog years ago pups were a bit hypo but no worse for it got what i wanted from the litter so it paid off but next line was a complete outcross so as not to get any faults atb.....

I aint got a bunch of experience with inbreeding like some but I have done it here and there over the years and didnt see a problem with it. Of course didnt see fireworks shoot out their ass or anything either so dont know what my opinion on it is.

:thumbs:IMHO its the best way to improve a certain line of dogs wether it be cross breds or pures a lot of the outstanding coursing dogs are proof of that.I have done it with the type of springers i keep and have had very good results
