Guest Jane Russell
no not really considering the quality they have been reared too, no expense spared, and are from a top stud dog too, (£250 to mate her) to date I've spent over £900 from the mating to present day, they even went to the vets to have thier dew claws removed, 11 pups, that's 22 removed under 22 local's + pain killers for 2 days after (£180), thier mum was fed top quality food 4 times a day, including cottage cheese and natural yoghurt everyday, she also went to the vets twice for a scan as I wanted to be sure the pups were a healthy size and she would be able to whelp ok (£230), plus the pups are all up to date with wormer and flea drops bought from my vet every 2 weeks, (£150 so far), food for the pups, toys, chews and treats (£100 so far), all this is without the time I spend with them socilizing them and training them, getting them used to new sounds, sights and smells, they are home reared, and are very used to all house sounds, I feed them 4 times a day, after they have fed, we go outside where they toilet, then we come back in to play and learn through play for an hour, they then go to sleep under a warm heat lamp that uses electric, £150 is not alot for quality is it! also forgot to add the advert in the countrymans weekly cost me £30 for 1 week, to advertise in my local paper is costing me £25 for 7 days. Never feel the need to justify your price. You set a price and if people think the dog/bitch is worth it, they will buy Jane Quote Link to post

Tina 1
I cant believe you haven't sold them all yet.. .. the price is very reasonable and i can see they have been well looked after and reared..If i wasn't already full up with dog's i would be tempted by one of those little cracker's.. .. Millet Thank you, I've had loads of enquiries, but then they ask if I have an older dog or a bigger, hairy dog the advert clearly states non-ped whippet puppies some people :11: Quote Link to post

Guest samstheman
It's nice to know there are people around that breed for the love of it and not profit. We had 11 pups, kept 2 and sold the rest for a lot less than they were worth, only because we knew they were going to good homes to our friends and locally. Like you, we spent a lot of money on their upbringing, only the best, but the praise you receive for rearing lovely strong puppies far outweighs a bulging purse. The time you have obviously spent with your brood is in itself worth every penny of the asking price. We even continued to worm our pups after they had been sold, spending a day every 2 weeks visiting each and every one armed with a bottle of Panacur. It has been important for us to make sure ours are still getting the quality of care we gave them for 8 weeks. Good luck Tina with homing the boys, I am sure you will have no trouble as they are a beautiful lot Quote Link to post
Tina 1
Thanks you Samstheman, mine all went with a personnel printed out care sheet, with time they are fed, dates for worming etc, and also gave them some of the food they have been on, and the 5 generation pedigree paper, and have been in contact with the new owners and had picutres and emails it's lovely to hear about how they are getting on :thumbs-up: Quote Link to post
