Guest rattdog
mine is 12.5 at the shoulders and the chest is 13.5, P. burns had a cool article on his site about a study on foxes in the states. out of all the foxes killed none had a chest span of over 14 inches, thats a tight den pipe digger. small dogs that are built for earthwork are worth thier wieght. it seems like alot of jack ass breeders over here in the states always ruin a working breed by making it bigger. A compact, powerfull and a smart dog seems to be the ticket, I ran into this guy at the park who had a 200LB rottie, a genetic wreck of course I dont think this breed was ever meant to be this big, also pitbulls over here are being pushed up to over a hundred pounds, another usless genetic wreck to make his owner feel like a bad ass, my red nose female pit was about 35 pounds but was a strong, athletic ,balanced dog with a bite like a steel trap, she passed away a few years back. now Im just starting to get into ratting and earthwork,If there is one thing I learned It is not easey to get good dogs....heres a pic of my new pup the black one Edited November 20, 2006 by rattdog Quote Link to post
