Bosun11 537
To ALL the contributers across the pond , on a fantastic and informative thred Tiff, some bull dogs have good feet, i've been fortunate enough to have a line that have all 'owned' good digets and in over 18 years, i've never suffered any foot problems with 'em. Used 'em all over this isle, on every type of ground and only once suffered a break, but that was afer a sideways leap over a five bar in the dark with the dog landing on a round bar, driven into the ground. Damaged wrists, split shoulder muscle and tendon damage but the feet 'stayed'. Nowt wrong with a drop of bull blood here and there, if you think its required but choose wiseley and loose it if it don't fit! This countrys flooded with it and by and large it works, over here. Your side is much different, your dogs have 'evolved' to suit. It's all about what bull you use and the best of it is over there to use anyway but i'm sure you know all that . As for looking to 'other' breeds as suggested, you don't need to bother, your dogs are doing you proud, your all doing ot the right way, breeding from 'tried and tested' stock, you certainly don't want exotics or re-created breeds. Just keep on keepin on..... I'm sure you know that too. Thank you and best of luck to all. Quote Link to post

Dan Edwards 1,134
Dan I like the look of that John dog, have you had a chance to have him on anything yet? Yes, I had him on 6 coyotes the first week he was here and I think about 5 or 6 coons. Since then I had him on a few more coyotes and quit a few more coons. He is top notch all the way around in my opinion. He's just what the doctor ordered. Quote Link to post
Tiff 36
Thanks for the info Bosun, would you happen to have any pics you could smack up here? I will put a few up of our dogs feet too. glad to hear about John Dan, I didn't realize he was bigger than Stitch when you started talking about him? Quote Link to post
Dan Edwards 1,134
Only a half inch taller or so Tiff but was not as wide as Stitch really when Stitch was healthy but very nice dog either way. He has great bone on him and he is just a solid dog all the way around. Quote Link to post

Dan Edwards 1,134
could 1 of your stags take coyote single handed.in some of the pics theres four dogs on 1. I watched him do this coyote and another one that day within 5 minutes of each other. This particular coyote didnt make it 200 yards from the road and he had it dead within bout 5 minutes of me gettin there. The next one he killed on the other side of the section across another road and it was about a half mile catch and the coyote was all but dead when we got there. It did take him about 3 or 4 trips though before he got it throated. Like I Doc says, the coyote is the master of the running fight. Stitch didnt have a mark on him though. Quote Link to post
