arcticgun 4,548
whats there brain wise , recall , and re they clever hunting dogs or just big fast teriers , pal had one but brain dead over shot all the time , there must be some out there that are better than that recall wise she is spot on mate, as she is still quite young so its hard to know how clever hunting wise she is for example she will when the terrier is out not enter cover but wait for him to bolt stuff that is tucked up, out alone if she puts summat up herself she will enter cover if it gets to it , so I suppose that gives an indication of cleverness, again time will tell. She took to the lamp very quickly, but struggled a little for a while with regards to going right out in the beam, she would sort of wander back if something wasn't immediatly visible, unlike my mates collie x which always went to the end of the beam regardless, mind she soon cottoned on in the end likesay compared to a collie x you get a little less brain, but imho a lot more 'go' and bags more 'do or die' attitude she must run fairly smart because we run some atrocious land on the lamp, hazards everywhere and she never gets knocked up. She has a lot to learn yet but she has done myself and herself proud in her first season proper, any faults she has are likely down to me Quote Link to post
