Passing land check for larger calibres

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Are there any guidelines as to what the police are looking for when passing land for a particular calibre?

I am confident the field will be passed for .22LR, but I have no idea what they'll be looking for when it comes to larger calibres (.223 in my case). Don't the same rules apply regarding visibility and backstops etc? What extra must the land provide?

I'm only wondering as the shooter must ensure the shot is safe before taking it regardless of calibre, so what difference is there between passing land for .22LR, .223, .243 etc?

I was going to phone the FEO but dont want him to think I'm an idiot so soon into the process!

Any advice?

Thanks!
