ferretmaniac 5
Well uve seen my bitch....she was an excellent worker, very alert, quick and intelligent, but she has more crosses in her than wheaton and greyhound. i think she has collie in her too. The only thing i found with her was that she has spurts of speed, but that could be down to anything. There lovely dogs at then end of the day! All the best FM Quote Link to post

Water Badger 26
i think a deerhound cross will be easier to come by as i would only be intrested in a working wheaton cross and for that i would probabley have to be looking acros the water. i have read stormy nights frosty mornings top read doxhope look the nuts he is on here but have been unable to contact him anybody know if he still breeds? bird 9,872
Both make good xs, i suppose the deerhoundx will give you bigger type dog, and the wheatenx might be more a sharper type with other dogs, as alot of terriers can be. Both xs are good on fox pre ban,i think it comes down to how big you want your dog to be.? wheaten xs will give a smaller lurcher, as to the deerhoundx. Quote Link to post
Top Lamper 2k10 169
never seen a wheaton cross work yet lyk but would be interresting to see one lyk but ive seen a good couple of deerhound cross work and every one has been excellent on wat they have been doin Quote Link to post
spiderpig 39
in my eyes the wheatens will be a bit more game over a longer period of time, but depends what you use them for i suppose Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766
I find it supriseing peoples obsesions with one cross type lurchers [bANNED TEXT] out of the two imho a cross between a grey/deerhound back to a wheaten/grey would produce offspring that were more versatile in the allround lurcher stakes than their f1x parents. stoke bullx 4
wheaton greyhounds faults tend to hunt up alot on lamp due to the terrier in them /deerhounds greyhounds slow starters not the cleverst ov dogs and sum not all tend to lack gameness [bANNED TEXT] it matters on certain quarry so your choice mate just my opion on what i have seen ov both crosses n i have seen a few off good working lines?
