most important bit of kit

Recommended Posts

Great post - When out in the bush I carry certain items in my pockets not in a ruck sack or in the jeep. Folding knife, Lighter, GPS, Cell Phone Hat and gloves..

Only twice have I been out in the bush with only what I had on my person - One time we were scouting for deer and had left my friends 4x4 to have a look with the binoculars over the crest of a hill . When I turned around the truck was blazing from a gas leak and it burned to the ground with most of our gear. I had binos, rifle and what was in my pockets. My cell phone was on the mobile charger so it was burned along with my pack and camp gear. My buddy had his binos , cigerettes, lighter and his cell phone which didn't work there and the battery almost dead. It was 15 miles to a main road. We made it out the next day. We were both lucky that we had good warm jackets and clothes - It was a long cold night....

whats the most important bit of kit you cant leave the house without on a days hunting, obviously if shooting its going to be a gun, and if digging its a terrier and spade, and running dogs its the lurcher.

but what is the bit of kit that makes the day run well, or adds comfort.

cheers nut
