why breed bullx lurcher

Recommended Posts

I sorry if this been asked before, but I into dog breeds and why things are bred ect, (my boyfriends anti breeding so having a descution with him is inposable).

I'm new to the world of Lurchers, and although I dout I will ever own one there breeding is very interesting as I think they are the only dogs left solely bred to work, everything else you have show lines and working lines.

Reading through I note a little resentment towards Bull X's and thinking about it I can understand that, as I not 100% shore what a Bull breed would add to the mix, hound to hound you have speed, hound to terrier speed x tenasity, add a collie into the mex and you could get drive and intelligance.

So why breed a Bull into the mix?

no breed bashing please, I want to learn more about these great working dogs.

You have answered that yourself, hound x terrier = speed + tenacity, a staffie is a terrier ;). The hound gives the staffie more height and speed and the staffie gives the hound more power and pain threshold to kill them nasty rats but still fast enough to catch rabbits.

a 1/4 bull 3/4 grey is very agile dog, it might not have the stamia of a pure bred saluki but in every other way this x can match any other x such as collie and deerhound and the list is endless but bulls are fearlest x to add to the mix so all bulls add somethink to the table ,but i think every man to his own......atb dh
