New TV deal for Irish Game Fairs

Fieldsports Channel (www.fieldsportschannel.tv) has teamed up with The Great Game Fairs of Ireland as its main arena sponsor at its upcoming game fair. The action packed arena programme attracts tens of thousands of countrysports lovers at Northern Ireland's premier rural event.

Having already earlier this year successfully re-launched the Ballywalter Game & Country Living Fair after its previous organisers cancelled it, the TGGFI's next event of 2010 will be the Irish Game Fair & Country Lifestyle Event at Shane's Castle, Antrim, ancestral seat of the O'Neill family, on 26-27 June. TGGFI also organises the Republic of Ireland’s Game Fair at Birr's Castle, Co Offaly, on the last weekend in August.

The official all Ireland launch of the 2010 Great Game Fairs of Ireland took place at Parliament Buildings, Stormont on the 17th June when a range of country sports activities was featured on the lawns and steps of the Northern Ireland Assembly. www.fieldsportschannel.tv was present to cover the country sports message being taken directly to the NI seat of government.

Fieldsports Channel will broadcast the Irish Game Fair in its 23 June and 30 June Fieldsports Britain programmes, taking over the TV rights from Country Channel.

Fieldsports Channel launched on 12 August last year and now achieves an average of 20,000 views a week for its flagship Fieldsports Britain programme.

Game Fair Director Albert Titterington, said, ‘We are delighted to link up with the Field Sports Channel in a symbiotic relationship that will not only take the All Ireland Game Fair message to a new and wider UK and international audience but also introduce the channel to a large Irish audience. This should further develop the close sporting links amongst country sports enthusiasts within these islands and deliver a ‘win/win’ situation for both partners.â€

Arena Director Philip Lawton stated “I am delighted to welcome our new arena sponsors. Fieldsports Channel T.V. and look forward to working with them as we bring a wide range of attractions to our main arena. We will be displaying many of the best aspects of fieldsports both old and new in our arena with plenty of excitement for the large crowds our programme always attracts. Muzzle loading, mounted dragoons, living history groups, horse drawn carriage sand dog and horse whisperers will join falconry, gundogs, terriers, lurchers, fly casting and horse and hounds within an action packed and colourful extravaganza of fun and entertainment for allâ€

Fieldsports Channel presenter Charlie Jacoby says: "I am delighted we have linked up with The Great Game Fairs of Ireland. I hope we bring them a large new audience as I expect they will bring to us. As a free, online half-hour weekly TV show, we aim to provide the best of hunting, shooting and fishing the UK has to offer - and you don't get more sporting folk than in Ireland."
