Kye 77
question for you lads i respect what you said about culling them if they dont make the grade because its an insult to the line dont get me wrong i wish you all the best an hope they exceed your expectations but what if they fall short being as good as the parents an youve only got one pup that goes back to your line what do you do? If there not as good as the parents, why would you keep them around?...it would hardly be worth furthering a line, if the dogs where not as good as the original line!...its no different than Terriers...these dogs have a job...if they dont do it, its sad, and that the end of it. Wont be the first time I've culled an entire litter is all I can say. That being said, I have never bred a litter out of this high a quality dogs either. Never owned a dog as good as Stitch in my life and I know Kye is awful fond of his bitch Tor. Quote Link to post
Kye 77
The fact that Tor can even walk after the wrecks she has had, let alone still hunt is incredible!...lets not even mention that Stitch should of been dead about 10 times over!..lol. The line Tor is from is good,...VERY good!...Stitch is an awesome dog,...possibly the most gifted dog, at HIS job, than most have seen...We have bred a VERY good all around hunting bitch (Tor) to one of the best Coyote killing dogs (Stitch)...if it works out, GREAT!...if not, its not our fault!...they have been bred, fed, and raised right...cant do any more than that. Kye 77
Also, the fact that Dan said to me "Name your price for Tor, moneys no object" after i left her at his for two weeks for her to get bred, will tell you 'Dan-Fans' how decent the bitch is...lol...and in a time when our house dosnt have heating, and the water bowl for the dogs in the kitchen is frozen in the morning in the winter, and i DIDNT sell her, should confirm she is fairly decent at what i want her to do..lol. owl1 13
was just trying to see how you look at it thats exactly how i think thing i will say is that youve got others to use to carry the line thats one thing lads over here struggle with is space most can only keep 4 some are lucky but if you work terriers aswell or gun dogs that limits your line if that makes sense say youve got a dog you lined a bitch took a pup an the pup wasnt a single hander an the sire was what do you do cull an lose the line or try again with another pup from a line you know nothin of?
