whippet 99 2,613
there is a thread on culling , will you be culling any runts or week ones, cracking pups the ones that dont make the grade what will you be doing with them. your opinion and preferations. as stated before even good working parents can throw bad working dogs . here we have a cracking litter of pups , excellent dam and sire. just love to hear the views from the breeders. no argument intended. just like to hear your say . yis Quote Link to post
bolio 51
These are a bunch of the nicest pups I've ever seen Kye. Keep it going mate, you're living the dream mate. Edited July 4, 2010 by bolio Quote Link to post
Kye 77
There wasnt any runts in the litter, if there had of been, they would have been culled asap!... As far as work goes, if they dont do the job that they was bred for, after being reared, fed, and condisioned correctly, and entered, they will be culled, just like any of the dogs on my yard, or Dans yard, or any other home that these pups will be going to...to do otherwise, is a disgrace/insult to the line of dogs that these pups came from, and its the ONLY way that you can have good dogs. Tiff 36
When Tor was bred we talked about how many pups would be ideal .... Kye had a list of about a dozen people who wanted them, and most wanted multiple pups ... obviously that was never going to work, so we counted out what would be ideal and what wouldn't overtask Tor (or us), and what do you know ... she had the 8 we "ordered". Funny how that works, eh? The "runt" is the little silver colored bitch that Ben picked, he's called her Turbo and she was my pick from the beginning so I really look forward to seeing how she comes on. Kye is keeping the big silver male he wants to call "Tank", but I call him Dough Boy or Fatty Fatty Two By Four or Staypuff Marshmallow Man ... the list could go on forever. He is a big boy thats for sure. Here are the other bitches the red boy this bitch on her back legs is really saluki looking I think! just some group pics Quote Link to post

Kye 77
Just to clarify, the silver pup that Tiff called a 'runt' isnt a runt...a runt is a small, sickly pup, that shouldnt/wouldnt survive...the silver pup that my mate has picked, happens to of been the smallest (isnt now)...it was also the first one out of the whelping box, the first one running around, and the most active of all the pups. artic 595
Didn't think you were in favour of the pencil neck type Dan. A little desert blood is needed to the mix otherwise they will be flung around like kites! Quote Link to post
owl1 13
question for you lads i respect what you said about culling them if they dont make the grade because its an insult to the line dont get me wrong i wish you all the best an hope they exceed your expectations but what if they fall short being as good as the parents an youve only got one pup that goes back to your line what do you do?
