irishlad 11
thanks for advice, no doubt about it mate he done his job well all his life, mind you the fuka got me in trouble a few times ive got a pup comin out of him soon cant wait Quote Link to post
Tiff 36
if it's an outside toe and/or the break is down in the tips you might be able to have a vet take the toe off. Quote Link to post
Trigger 26
have a look at your dogs nails as somtimes they split. instead of breaking a piece of nail it splits up the nail back up into the toe and everytime you walk the dog it agrivates the foot causing them to limp. my vet told me to have the nail removed of my dog when this happend but i rested him for a long time and it did grow out. atb trigger Quote Link to post
runforyourlife 361
Dont think you need to have his toe removed at seven years old... You say theres nothing wrong with him stretching his legs, no there isnt, and should stretch them everyday. Some dogs work on way past this age. Have you checked his dew claws mate? And like someone said earlier, the best way to help a knocked up toe is rest... Quote Link to post
my hounds 313
COULD BE LIGAMENT OR TENDON DAMAGE? Quote Link to post
HBG 350
my old dog remus has a problem on its foot he's 7 too,he had a toe removed years ago and has just recently had a xray as he's been having trouble for a couple of months now,the xray showed an arthritic(spelling) joint above where the toe was removed, looking at him now i think his working days are over Quote Link to post
richie198 28
id say get the toe off if he was still working mate but seen as he is not i would look for every other alternetive even try get the nail off to releive the pressure when he moves. Quote Link to post
Tiff 36
it depends on what the actual problem is, take the dog to a track/running dog vet so he can diagnose for sure. I offered the toe-off as a possible solution as some (me included) would never consider something like that until I was told about it. Quote Link to post
matt the lamper 161
my dog had a broken toe and is fine just rest him up for a month or 2 and he will be fine :gunsmilie: Quote Link to post
bullcross1 10
sounds like an old reacurring injury so no dont think it will heal with rest mate, iv just had a toe pin fired on my dog, but that was due to ligament damage on the toe, not sure if it works on broken toes, people talk so much shite on here Quote Link to post
irishlad 11
its nearly everytime i walk him it swells up when i get home, if i touch it he yelps like mad, then after few days he seems to be ok, but the swelling hasnt gone away really, apparently bedlington x are known for bad feet is this true? i sumtimes dont no wat to believe on this site! Tiff 36
why not take the dog to a greyhound vet? Then you'll know for sure, if it's happening everytime you have the dog out it is only right to have it properly looked at. Maybe snap a pic and put it up here for interests sake? Quote Link to post
