I was watching a program a while back and they were on about turtle soup that was popular in Victorian times. Used to take about 4 days to make, apparently!

Something not right about that.....keeping in mind a 6" red bellied pirahna sells in most aquatic shops for upwards of 50/60 quid....a young one wouldnt survive long enough to grow to adulthood.....

Also, they are not great whites !...a single pirahna will do very little damage to anything bigger than itself, its when theres 100+ you need to get your tootsies out the water :D

my old man use to have a great fecking fish tank in the front room only cold water but he enjoyed it untill he started realising that the fish was going walk abouts, so we removed the cat fish ( wasnt very big ) rehomed him in a friends pond in there back garden, , he never see him for 4 years, presummed the heron had him, he cleaned the pond out one day and found the the cat fish in the bottom at quite a size, ,

new home binbrook fishing lakes !

quite a big lake now this was maybe 15 years ago, ,

never did tell anyone about it, then one afternoon whislt walking around the ponds with my poodles, i got talking to a chap that was fishing for carp he just reckoned that he had a bite that seemed very big but very sluggish, it wasnt untill he got it close to the bank that it made a sharp attemp to do 1 ! with great success snaping his braided line that he said he had fetched in plenty of big carp in with ease,

how big could one grow in that amount of time, ?

Pretty big. A local lake that i fished in with my grandad that was dug 25 years ago was stocked with big carp and a few 2LB catfish.Last year the biggest catfish caught was over 12LB so I would say they can grow pretty large in that time.
