blackfox 9
Accuracy International AX The Accuracy International AX Rifle System is the latest descendent of the Arctic Warfare, a combat-proven weapon with decades of outstanding service with police and military forces worldwide. Built upon the same battle-tested bolt, action, and barrels as the AW, the AX introduces a greater degree of versatility through an all-new adjustable, modular chassis system, while providing the same famed precision and dependability that defines an Accuracy International rifle. Drawing upon the experiences of end-users in the field, Accuracy International has incorporated a variety of new features into the AX. Most notably, the centerpiece of the rifle is its free-float forend tube with eight sides of accessory rail attachment points, available in either long (16") or short (13") versions. Picatinny rail sections can easily be moved and customized on all four sides, making it possible to mount a bipod, vertical foregrip, iron sights, backup optics, night vision devices, tactical lights, and more. The unique cut-away magazine well enables easier reloading from prone positions, particularly with larger-capacity magazines. Replaceable pistolgrip palm swells allow the user to customize their rifle to precisely fit their own individual hand, while the addition of removable flush cup sling points means that slings and accessories can be rapidly shifted on the rifle. The three-position safety design allows the bolt to be manipulated while the rifle is on safe, or to lock the bolt closed on safe if desired. A new trigger design allows for forward and aft adjustment of the trigger position for optimum user fit. Available options include a newly re-designed rear spike/monopod, quick-adjust cheekpiece and buttpad, and replaceable grip panels. matt_hooks 188
I'm guessing the Win .234 on the list should read .243? Ric, get thee behind me! I'm first in the queue! Surprised they're not chambering it for anything big, like .50, though it seems most mil snipers are moving towards the Lap .338 these days for the sniper role. Tasty bit of kit, I like! matt_hooks 188
Aye. .223 REM is the calibre and case type, The Remington 700 is an action. Quote Link to post
blackfox 9
Yep, that's a remmy in the picture. But that's the best pictures I could find, the new products were on show (I think) in Las Vagas at ShotShow 2010. I just thought I'd ad that they will be producing a chassis system for the 700, incase anyone was wondering. As for the .223 magazine, I'm pretty sure that at the moment AI dont produce factory .223 magazines, I know that sporting services & SYSS would convert another calibre size to fit the .223 case. They will now be offering that as a factory made .223 case. Quote Link to post
RicW 67
I didn't realise Border were making .204 barrels now. When I last checked they only listed the Archer button rifled barrels. Needless to say, I'll go for the Border cut rifling. Ric Quote Link to post
