It's not my sort of hunting, but each to their own.

Not my type of hunting either, But these big game reserves were people pay £££ to shoot Lions, Rhinos etc.. have actualy played a big part in boosting the wild population numbers of many animals in

so many anti comments on this thread.   any wonder fox cant be hunted when hunters turn on their own .   nice one lads , keep it up . you wont be happy until they done shooting and fishing aswell

simon i refuse to enter into further conversation due to your balding head and bottom licking habits ,,you are a true gay and for that i salute you...not my cup of tea hey but who am i to judge....

Spider, you dont know until you try it, im sure my tender loving could bring you round. As for the balding head, you are correct but grass doesn't grow on a busy street lol. Anyway must now leave and take the ddogs to the beach, may even let them off the lead......... :tongue2:

pity its parents didnt turn up and maul the wanker

Why would someone who enjoys and understands their hunting, say something like that?

just my opinion mate, dont agree with killing lions and certainly not with a bow and arrow

maybe a bold statement for a hunting site but there you go.

The thing is, you said you'd like to see a fellow hunter mauled and that he was a wanker. I just think that's a bit strong from someone who's into their hunting.

I'm just surprised to hear you speak of one peoples traditions like that, especially after what we've had to put up with happening to ours in recent times.

What a waste of a beautiful animal. That was not hunting that was a prick murdering a lion.

I would admire the man had he stalked it and killed it on his own but with the heavy guns in the background telling the prick every move, not for me.Paper targets would to much for that asshole. P1

Now you take off into the veldt with your Rhodesian Ridgebacks and a Weatherby .358 and bring back a full grown lion and I will give you respect. FFS the "guide" was backing up the "hunter" with a bloody big gun. What a hero. NOT.

id hardly call them wankers ect ect,,,we all do things that some find repulsive but thats life,,,ive never been bothered by someon with anti views towards my chosen sport but thats only if they have the full facts and experience,,,what dous piss me off is when people make judgments on things they know nothing about apart from the media and videos,,,,rather like most of you are doing here,,,what would you say to someone who has never seen a ferret let alone seen one work but who said it was cruel and unsporting??? you would say i hope that until you have an informed opinion please dont make judgment as all is not what it sometimes seems......same here i hope,,,,,if you have chance go out there,,find out how it works and why then pass comment until then as all people should do .shut up and keep opinions to yourself until you know the facts

Whether it was filmed on a game ranch or not it certainly was'nt an event worth preserving on film and then showing to the world.

Howard Hill -the guy who is said to have split the arrow for real in the old Erol Flyn Robin hood film- is one to watch if you want bow-hunting . Puma ,elephants ,even a grape off a blokes head ! Check him out .

Well as i've stated numerous times on here i always adopt the "each too there own" policy. What i was unsure of was the shot placement issue and SGS has kindly explained that one.

Unless the situation arose(very much doubt it) that i get the chance to hunt a lion then i am not 100% if i would take up the offer. I would much rather shoot a buffalo and get it on the plate rather than shoot a lion for the trophy.....oh and i'd want to do it with the biggest gun possible with a 20 metre river between us

going by that logic thean maybe you should practise what you preach and shut up and keep your views to yourself.

but on the other hand its a forum and debate what we see.

but the op got what he wanted all us limeys as he calls us at each others throats.

ibut you right i dont know all the facts whether it was drugged or that, however it did seem a bit placid.i just dont like to see a magnifecent beast killed for the sole reason of just saying i did it.

Each to their own i must say i never watched the vid.... but Big game hunting isn't for me personally...

i understand its good for the local population, bringing in an income, but noting good in my eyes bringing down such animals....

elephant, lion, tiger, giraffe rhino...... thumbdown.gif Anything else i wouldn't mind so much,

you understand JUST my humble opinion...

Although it wouldn't be something that i would want to do, i see no wrong with that clip.

How many of you have stalked wild African lions on foot??? I have, on numerous occasions when i worked in South Africa, our purpose was for research and not hunting, but the stalk is the same, the spoor is followed and you can literally walk up to a pride of resting lions without problem. Lionesses with cubs, or a pride on a kill then of course you wouldn't get that close. Lions that have eaten and in the heat of the sun, with no cubs are easy to get very close too, they may stand up and look at you, then move further away, but rarely would they attack, unless provoked.

Big game hunting in Africa when done correctly is one of the main incomes to continue with the thousands of conservation projects on the go, without it the Wild African bush would be in serious trouble. Lions are not endangered and if someone is prepared to pay thousands of dollars to hunt them and contribute to the country's income then i see nothing wrong with it.
